Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
¼ cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs
¼ cup shortening
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425° and grease a 9 x 9 baking pan.
- In bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add in milk, eggs and shortening and beat with mixer for 1 minute.
- Pour batter into baking pan. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.
