Yields 24 brownies.
Ingredients:
¼ cup shortening (butter flavored)
1 ½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cream the shortening and brown sugar together, add eggs one at a time.
- Beat in vanilla. Combine all dry ingredients and slowly add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread into baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely.
