Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ cup sugar
1 cup finely chopped, peeled apple
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups applesauce
½ cup melted butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°and line muffin pans with paper or foil cups.
- Mix all dry ingredients in bowl and add the eggs, butter, and applesauce. Stir in the chopped nuts and walnuts.
- Evenly pour batter into pans.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes and cool completely.
