Ingredients:

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 ½ cups all purpose flour

1 ½ cup sugar

1 cup finely chopped, peeled apple

½ cup chopped walnuts

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 ½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg

2 large eggs

1 ½ cups applesauce

½ cup melted butter

 


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°and line muffin pans with paper or foil cups.
  2. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl and add the eggs, butter, and applesauce. Stir in the chopped nuts and walnuts.
  3. Evenly pour batter into pans.
  4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes and cool completely.
