Ingredients:

¼ cup packed light brown sugar

¼ cup sugar

1 tbsp all purpose flour

1 tsp grated lemon zest

¼ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

6 Apples

1 cup raisins

1 large beaten egg

1 tsp sugar

9” double pie crust

 

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spray 9” pie pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix together brown sugar, sugar, flour, lemon zest, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Peel, core and thinly slice apples. . Add to sugar mix and then add in raisins. Pour everything into pie pan.
  4. Put second piecrust on top of filling. Press down edges with a fork and make steam vents in middle of crust.
  5. Brush top lightly with a beaten egg and sprinkle with some sugar.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
